She had previously completed the Anatomic Pathology residency in Siena, Italy, after graduating <em>summa cum laude <\/em>from the medical school of University of Siena. She later obtained her PhD in Medical Biotechnology from the same institution working on prostate cancer molecular alterations. She contributed over 40 peer-reviewed publications, several book chapters and numerous abstracts and presentations at national and international venues. She serves as the Director of the Immunohistochemistry Laboratory and the Surgical Pathology Fellowship of UF Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine and as member of several committees, including the College of American Pathologists Council of Education, as well as institutional and departmental committees.
